Lead Finder: find prospects in the B2B database and add them to a campaign

Search for prospects by role, location, company size, industry or technologies without your LinkedIn account, preview the matches for free, add them to a campaign for 1 credit each, or run the search through an AI assistant.

Lead Finder searches a B2B database of professional profiles and companies and adds the people who fit into a campaign. It does not search through your LinkedIn account. You can search, preview and add people without a LinkedIn account connected. LinkedIn is needed later, when the campaign starts commenting and messaging.

Where: Lead Finder in the left menu.

Searching is free. Adding people to a campaign costs 1 Extrovert Credit per prospect, from the balance your team shares. See Extrovert Credits: what they pay for and how to get more.

Building a search

The Filters panel has two sections, About the person and About the company. Open a group, add values, then press Search. Nothing runs until you press it.

Person filters: Job title, Seniority and function, Location, Tenure, Skills, Certifications, Education, Languages, Keywords, Profile badges and LinkedIn followers.

Company filters: Company, Industry, Products and services, Technologies, Company size, Revenue, Founded year, Funding, Company type, Number of offices, Operation language, Employee by department, Headcount growth, NAICS codes and Company social profiles.

A few things that decide whether a search finds the right people:

  • Include, Exclude and AND. Values in Include are alternatives: a person matches any one of them. Exclude removes people who match. AND, where a group offers it, means a person must match every term. Between different groups the filters always combine with AND: a person has to fit the title filter and the location filter and the company size filter.

  • Match modes. Text filters offer Smart (also finds similar and related values), All words (every word must appear, in any order) and Exact. Start with Smart and tighten if the results look too broad.

  • Job title has Current and Previous tabs. Current searches the role a person holds now. Leave Primary active role only on unless you also want side roles, such as advisor or board positions.

  • Location works for the person or, on the Company location tab, for any office of their company. Regions and countries are picked from a tree, cities are picked from suggestions as you type. Type a country name to include the whole country. A location you type that does not match a suggestion is not added.

  • Company identifies companies by name, domain or LinkedIn URL. Use it to target a list of accounts rather than a type of company.

  • Paste lists. Any text filter accepts comma-separated values and turns them into chips, up to 300 values per filter.

  • NAICS codes take full 6-digit codes only, not industry names. For names use the Industry filter.

A search needs at least one Include filter. Exclusions on their own find nobody. If nobody matches, the combination is too narrow: remove a filter or widen a value and search again.

Reading the results

The header shows how many people in the database match your filters, for example 12,480 prospects found. The table below is a preview of up to 100 of them, with a masked name, title, company and location. There are no further pages and no sorting. The preview exists to check that the filters are right, not to browse the whole result.

Click a row to open Prospect preview: a short profile summary, the role and department, the position history with company, dates, size and location, the company's industry, size, headquarters, offices, founding year and revenue range, and when the profile was last updated. Job titles for past positions are not available.

Full names and LinkedIn URLs are hidden until you add someone. Once a person is in your campaign you see their full profile, and Extrovert refreshes their details from LinkedIn as usual.

Adding prospects to a campaign

There are two ways to add people from a search.

By filters. Press Add to campaign above the table. Choose How many prospects to add (50 by default), the Campaign and a List, existing or new. Extrovert takes that many people from the top of the full result, not only from the 100 you can see.

By selection. Tick the rows you want, up to 100, and press Add to campaign. You can also add one person from their preview. Selection works within the current result only. A new search clears it.

Both ways open the same form with two more options:

  • Move existing prospects to this list: if a person is already in another of your lists, move them here instead of skipping them. Off by default.

  • Remove prospects who haven't posted in the last 30 days: after adding, Extrovert checks their recent posts and removes people with nothing to comment on. Credits are charged for everyone found, including the people removed by this check, so use it when you want a smaller but active list.

The form shows Maximum cost before you confirm. The number you can add is capped by four limits, and the form tells you which one applies under Why this is the maximum: how many people your filters matched, how many prospects your team can still add within its prospect limit, how many prospects your credits cover, and 10,000 per batch. To add more, delete prospects you no longer need, raise the prospect limit on the Plan page, or buy credits.

If you change a filter after searching, the old results cannot be added. Run the search again first.

What happens after you confirm

Adding runs in the background, like an import from Sales Navigator. The form closes, and you can leave the page or close the browser. When it finishes, a notification shows the result: how many were requested and processed, how many were added, how many were already in your prospects, how many profiles were invalid, how many were skipped because the prospect limit was reached, and how many credits were charged.

The credits line can be higher than the added line. You pay for every prospect that was processed for you, and a person who turns out to be a duplicate, an invalid profile or over your limit was still processed. If the search itself fails before anything is delivered, nothing is charged and nothing is added.

People added this way behave like any other prospect: they count against the team's prospect limit, they are enriched and their posts are collected once the campaign is running. See how prospect limits work. The other ways to add people, by profile URL, CSV, Sales Navigator, LinkedIn search and recent connections, are described in how to build and import your prospect list.

Letting an AI assistant run the search

Next to the filters there is a link, or ask AI. It opens the in-app assistant with a task: work out your ideal customer profile and find prospects with Lead Finder. The assistant first checks whose campaigns you can work with. If you manage several accounts or have campaigns shared with you, it asks which account the search is for before it reads anything. Then it reads that account's LinkedIn profile, Voice and website, suggests a profile of who to target, separates what it knows from what it assumes, and proposes filters. Before it adds anyone it tells you how many prospects will be added and how many credits that costs, and waits for your confirmation.

The same search is available from Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant connected to Extrovert through MCP. The assistant reads the filter schema, previews the first 20 matches and adds people by filters or by selecting from that preview. It has to set a spending ceiling in credits for every add and should confirm the count and the cost with you first. Lead Finder is not part of the public API. See connect Extrovert to an AI assistant.

Availability

  • On the Extrovert plan, adding uses the credits that come with your seats or credits you bought.

  • On a trial, the workspace's 300 one-time credits cover up to 300 prospects from Lead Finder.

  • On the archived Light plan you can search and preview, but adding needs credits, which that plan does not include.

  • When the team is out of credits or has reached its prospect limit, the button explains why it is disabled. Team members who cannot manage the plan are asked to contact an admin.
