Intent Signals watches LinkedIn activity that shows interest in what you sell, and finds the people behind it. Someone who commented on a competitor's post, or just connected with a competitor's sales team, is warmer than a name from a list. A signals campaign tracks one kind of activity, checks each person against your filters and puts the ones who pass into Suggested prospects. From there you choose who goes into an outreach campaign.
Where: Intent Signals in the left menu. It has two pages: Signals campaigns, where you set up tracking, and Suggested prospects, where the people it found are listed.
Finding people costs Extrovert Credits, charged per person found. See Extrovert Credits: what they pay for and how to get more.
The seven signal types
Each campaign tracks exactly one type. The price is per prospect who passes your filters.
Social activity
Specific LinkedIn posts, 25 credits. You paste links to posts, your own, an expert's or a competitor's. It finds the people who like or comment on them.
Posts by people, 25 credits. You paste profile links. It finds people who like or comment on the new posts of those profiles. Add your own profile to collect everyone who engages with your posts.
Posts by company pages, 25 credits. The same for company pages: competitors, partners, industry leaders.
Posts by keyword, 50 credits. You give keywords about the problem you solve. It finds people who like or comment on matching posts, and the authors of those posts.
Competitor team engagement, 100 credits. You name competitor company pages. It watches which posts their teams like or comment on, and finds the authors and the other people engaging there.
Competitors
Competitor sales connections, 250 credits. Finds people who just connected with a competitor's sales and business team. They may be evaluating a product like yours.
Competitor customer success connections, 250 credits. Finds people who just connected with a competitor's customer success and support team. They may be customers who are open to an alternative.
For the two connection types you can name the companies or point at specific people on their teams. The first connections can take a few days to appear, because tracking has to be set up on the competitor's side first.
Creating a signals campaign
On Signals campaigns, press Create signals campaign. The wizard has three steps.
Choose a signal type. Clicking a type takes you straight to the next step.
Set up tracking. What to watch, which activity counts, who to keep, and the daily limit. Details below.
Name and owner. The name is prefilled from the type and what you watch. The owner has access to the campaign and can share it. The owner cannot be changed later.
Press Create and launch. The campaign starts tracking right away. If the team has no credits, the button says Add credits to launch instead, and nothing is created until there are credits to pay for what it finds.
What to watch
Depending on the type you paste post links, profile links, company page links or keywords, one per line, and press Add links. The form checks each link is the right kind and shows how many you can add. For the post types you also choose:
Posts from: last 24 hours, last week or last month. Older posts are ignored.
Which activity counts: likes, comments, and for keyword and competitor tracking also the post authors. Pick at least one.
Only posts with at least N reactions and comments, 5 by default. Raise it to skip posts nobody engages with.
Who to keep
These filters decide who is charged and who is ignored. A person must pass every filter you turn on. Someone who does not match costs nothing.
Location: countries or cities to include, and places to exclude. Type a place and pick it from the suggestions. Small areas find very few people, a country or a city works better.
Company: company size ranges, and company pages whose employees to skip. People who work at the post author's company, or at a company you watch, are skipped already.
Job titles: pick job title groups by department and level (Director / C-level, Manager, Individual contributor), add your own titles, and exclude titles or groups you do not want.
Daily prospect limit
How many qualified prospects the campaign may find per day, from 1 to 1000. The default is 5. The form turns it into a Maximum spend in credits per day, and it will not let you set a limit that costs more than the team's current balance. Think of it as a budget: the campaign stops for the day when it reaches the limit and continues the next day.
What happens after launch
Tracking runs on its own. People who pass your filters appear in Suggested prospects as they are found, and each one is charged at the price of the signal type at that moment. The campaign row shows how many signals it found, how many credits it spent, the daily limit and when it last found someone. The first results can take a few days, especially for the connection types.
Right after you create, save or start a campaign you may see Creating…, Updating…, Starting… or Pausing… for a moment. That is the change being applied to the tracking. If it takes longer than usual the row says so, and there is nothing you need to do.
When the team runs out of credits, every signals campaign in the workspace pauses and shows Out of credits. They start again by themselves as soon as credits are added, whether by the monthly allocation or by a purchase. A campaign you paused yourself stays paused.
Pausing, editing and deleting
Each campaign has a switch, in the list and at the top of its page. Turn it off to pause tracking and on to resume. The list has Active and Inactive tabs.
Open a campaign to change its tracking and filters on the Settings tab. Changes apply when you press Save changes. Until then the campaign keeps running with the old settings. While a change is being applied the settings are locked for a moment. The signal type and the owner cannot be changed. To track something else, create another campaign.
Deleting a campaign stops tracking. The people it already found stay in Suggested prospects, and credits that were spent are not returned.
Who can see and edit a campaign
A new campaign is visible to its owner only. On the Ownership and access tab the owner, an admin or a manager can open it to Everyone in your team or to Selected team members. People with access can edit the campaign and work with the people it finds. Only the owner, admins and managers can delete it or change who has access. Admins and managers also see the campaigns of managed accounts.
A live signals campaign is a running subscription, so Extrovert will not let a workspace, a team member or an account be deleted while they still own one. Delete the campaigns first, then remove the person or the workspace.
Costs and limits
You pay only for people who pass your filters, at the price of the signal type. Tracking itself is free.
A person found by a campaign does not use your prospect limit until you add them to a campaign.
One person can hold up to 50 signals campaigns in a workspace.
Email addresses and phone numbers are not collected. You get the person's name, title, company, location, LinkedIn profile and the activity that surfaced them.
Availability
Intent Signals is part of the Extrovert plan and of the trial, where it runs on the workspace's 300 one-time credits. It is not available on the archived Light plan, and it stops when a workspace becomes inactive.
