How to connect an account created with Google or Apple ID

Where to get your credentials if you log in using Apple or Google?

Written by Oleg Sobolev

You can connect your professional network account to Extrovert even if you originally created it with Google or Apple ID.

If you normally sign in with Google or Apple, your account may not have a separate password yet. Extrovert needs that account password for the email-and-password connection method. This guide explains how to create one.

Before you start

  • Make sure you can access the account in a browser using Google or Apple sign-in.

  • Keep the inbox for your account email open. You may receive verification codes there.

  • Keep your phone nearby in case the platform asks for an additional security check.

Create an account password

  1. Open the platform sign-in page in your browser.

  2. Sign in with the same Google or Apple option you normally use.

  3. Open your account menu from your profile picture.

  4. Go to Settings & Privacy.

  5. Open Sign in & security.

  6. Open Email addresses.

  7. If your email is not already listed, click Add email address, enter the email you want to use, and confirm it with the code sent to your inbox.

  8. After your email is confirmed, choose Create password or the password-reset option shown in the account security settings.

  9. Enter your account email so the password setup link can be sent to you.

  10. If the platform asks for a security check, complete it in the browser or on your phone.

  11. Open the password setup email, enter your new password, and submit it.

Connect the account to Extrovert

  1. Go back to Extrovert.

  2. Open Settings → connected account.

  3. Choose the email & password connection method.

  4. Enter the email and the new account password you just created.

  5. Click Connect.

If it does not work

  • Wrong password — confirm that the new password works by signing in directly in a browser.

  • No password email — check spam, confirm you entered the same email attached to the account, then request the email again.

  • Verification gets stuck — finish the security check directly in the browser or on your phone, then try connecting in Extrovert again.

  • You are using Chrome — you can also use the browser extension connection method instead, which uses your existing browser session and does not require entering a password.
