☝️ Pro tip: If you have this guide opened in the chat widget, you can follow the steps one by one, closing and reopening the chat as needed to refer back to it. If you prefer to open it in a new window, you can find the link at the bottom.
Step 1: Set up a campaign
Go to Campaigns → Create a campaign.
Give your Campaign a name. I't just for your reference and not visible to leads.
Provide some Context about your company. This helps the AI generate more genuine comments. Include relevant details about your company and make sure to mention your company name. If you don’t have a perfect version ready, don’t worry — you can always update it later. Start with the information you currently have.
Now provide some Context about you. Include any facts about yourself that are relevant to the comments. You can also add some personal information if you wish. It doesn’t have to be perfect initially; start with what you have. You can always update it later and regenerate the comments.
Then set the number of days for post age. Determine how old the posts should be for Extrovert to process them. The default is 30 days, but you can adjust this number, for example, to react only to fresh posts.
Step 2: Add your prospects
Click on Add prospects
Give your list a name. It is just for your reference
Paste URLs of LinkedIn profiles of your leads in the text box below. You can upload multiple leads at once, pasting each URL on a new line. You can export your leads from LinkedIn or Sales Navigator Search (using a 3rd party tool like Evaboot), get your lead list from tools like Apollo or Clay, or export from your outreach tool as CSV and copy-paste from it.
☝️ Pro Tip: These leads do not necessarily have to be your connections on LinkedIn. In most cases, they should not be. Extrovert is designed to nurture your target audience that you potentially want to sell to, so you may not be connected to them yet.
☝️ Pro Tip: It’s better to add people who are actively posting on LinkedIn to make Extroverting more effective. You can do this by applying the Posted on LinkedIn filter on Sales Navigator. Don’t worry if you don’t have a filtered list right now; you will be able to delete inactive leads later after Extrovert processes them.
Step 3: Connect your LinkedIn account
Go to Settings → LinkedIn profile
Enter your Credentials here.
☝️ Please note that we do not store your password, and only use it once to securely connect to your account. You can deactivate this connection at any time, from the Extrovert side and the LinkedIn side. Additionally, you also can set up SMS or in-app 2-step verification on the LinkedIn side to increase security if you wish.
Please be patient and stay on this page, to allow the process to finish. Connection usually takes from 1 to 5 minutes to complete. Very often LinkedIn will ask to verify the logging attempt by asking for a code sent to email or SMS or accepting a push notification sent to your LinkedIn app on mobile.
If you experience any issues while connecting your account, or have questions, please reach out to us via chat.
Step 4: Activate your campaign
Go to Campaigns and turn on the switch next to your campaign name.
🎉 Congrats! Your campaign is now up and running.
Extrovert will now start enriching leads by pulling information from LinkedIn.
This process takes about 3-5 minutes per lead to ensure your account’s safety.
Once a lead is enriched, Extrovert will check for new posts, which will appear in the Comments section for you to review. We will check for new posts daily, keeping within your daily limits.
If your leads have posted something within the number of days for post age, that you have set before, expect the first comments to appear in about 10 minutes.
You can always check how enriching and post-fetching process is going by navigating to Campaigns → Audience → Your Lead List Name
Step 5: Draft your first comment
Go to Comments section to review your first comments.
You can Approve, Reject, or manually correct comments, either all at once or one by one. Approved comments go to Pending, and then are posted automatically.
Posting is done gradually and within your daily limits.
Nothing is posted without your approval.
A like is added by default, so approving also likes the post. You can turn this off or change the reaction type.
To get another version of the comment, hit the 🔄 button). This is useful for situations when you just want a quick simple answer.
Step 6: Use "Tweak a comment" as your co-pilot for crafting deeper comments
In situations when you want to go deeper and tweak a comment in a way you like, or produce a longer comment with specific ideas in mind, you can use the Tweak a comment button and provide instructions to the AI on what you would like to change (e.g. Debate, Elaborate, Provide context about yourself, Unpack a specific thought).
You can use quick buttons for common changes.
By default, it will take into account the previous iteration and apply changes on top of it. This is useful if you mostly like the iteration, but would like to change something (Add a question, Change tone of voice, Add a specific idea)
You can also Start from scratch, and provide specific instructions when you want your comment to be drafted in a certain way, and you don't want it to be based on the previous iteration.
Step 6: Monitor your leads engagement
By hovering on labels you can check how often the lead posts, how many times you have engaged with them, and when the last engagement
You can also Delete a lead right from the Comments feed if you think they are not relevant
You can go to the Lead profile by clicking on the lead name. There you can check all the posts for a given lead.
You can go to Campaign -> Audience -> Your Lead List Name to check overall engagement stats
There you can also Delete inactive leads (ones that haven't posted for more than a year)
Also, you can Download the lead list as a CSV, including all interaction stats, tho then import the leads that are ready to your outreach tool
Step 8: Filter out the noise and nurture hundreds of leads in minutes daily
Some leads post very often (several times per week), and some quite rarely (once in 2 months). To engage effectively with them it is sometimes useful to filter out most of the posts
Use filters to show only posts that are Relevant to you OR Coming from an important prospect OR Your last comment was a long time ago OR Prospect rarely posts
Use Post type filter to filter out certain types of posts, e.g. Personal life blogs, New hire announcements, etc.
Use Campaign and Prospect list filters to focus on specific audience
